Auto Reboot Timer.txt
WP11B+ new function -- Auto Reboot Timer

How it works,
------------
When function is enabled and a time is set the AP will automatically do a reboot operation.

How to configure.
----------------

The function can be enabled in wireless setup page.
The time set using the 24 hour format.

The timer can operate in 2 modes.

1) Set how many hours after AP run then forced it to do reboot operation.
e.g. if timer is set to 08:00 then every 8 hours AP will do a auto reboot.
that will be 3 time per day. Or 12:00 hours will be 2 times per day.

2) Set to reboot at specific hour of a day. This operation can only support 1 time
   auto reboot a day.
To do this AP must read from a time server to get the real time update.
AP can be configured to get time update from a time server on the internet or
   from a local PC.

First setup an IP and netmask and Gateway (if necessary) for the AP in the LAN
   Setup page.
Next, in the Set System Clock page, select the Time Zone, enter the IP or domain name
of the time server and check to enable the Auto Time Settings.
Power Off/On the AP and check in Set System Clock page the Current Time.
If it display the correct time of the day then configuration is successful.
   Otherwise, see troubleshooting guide below.

If a PC on the local network is use to provide the time update, it needs to run a
time server program. This program can be easily downloaded from any shareware or
   freeware site.
AP and the PC IP address must be on the sane subnet.
If PC is on a different subnet then it must be reachable from a router.
In this case, AP must configure a gateway to point to the router to be able to reach
the PC to get the time update.

If AP is to get its time update from internet then configure as follows:
In LAN Setup page set the following:

o- IP and subnet -- must be of same subnet as router that provides the
                          internet access.

o- Gateway IP -- is the IP of hte router that provide the internet access

o- DNS -- will be the appropriate IP that internet service provides.

In Set System's Clock page set the following:

o- select the Time Zone for you region

o- enter the time server domain name

o- check on Auto time Settings to enable it

Implementations Hints:
----------------------
It is recommended to use a local PC as time server.
If there are many APs installed, at least 2 PCs will act as time servers.
These time server PCs itself will then setup to get its time update directly
from the internet.
The time server PCs will act both as primary and secondary time servers.
i.e. some APs will configured 1st PC as primary others as secondary and another
group of APs will set 2nd PC as the primary and others as secondary, etc..

TroubleShooting guide:
----------------------
1) AP after power On, show time is 00:00

   Possible causes:

o- IP or domain name entered is incorrect.

o- there is a firewall at the router. Ensure UDP port 123 is open.

o- the time server not reachable. Change address to a working time server.
